Important – this is a legal agreement between you (referenced herein as "you" or "user" or with “your”) and the association for talent development – northern new jersey chapter (referenced herein as "nnj-atd") that applies each time you use or access any website and/or digital properties owned and operated by nnj-atd, namely www.nnjatd.org (referenced collectively herein as the “website”). You should therefore read carefully the following terms and conditions contained in this terms of use agreement (“tou”) as they govern your access and use of the website. If you do not agree with this tou, you are not granted permission to access or otherwise use this website and are instructed to exit this website or portal immediately.


NNJ-ATD reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time to address changes to its information collection, disclosure, or use practices or changes in law. If NNJ-ATD makes changes to this Privacy Policy, NNJ-ATD will post those changes at this location and provide notice of any material changes so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Please review this Privacy Policy on a periodic basis.


Privacy Policy

The NNJ-ATD places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate NNJ-ATD's firm commitment to the privacy of our members and website users. This policy explains what types of information is collected by the NNJ-ATD's website and how this information is used.


What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
NNJ-ATD members can optionally provide information about themselves, such as but not limited to name, email address, phone number, employer, title, professional skillset. The member has total control in their profile over who can see any piece of information: anyone, members, or no one. It is the responsibility of the member to keep the profile updated. NNJ-ATD visitors who attend a meeting provides at a minimum their email address and name.


How Your Information May Be Used
We may use your personal information to provide you with personalized service; to send e-mail alerts to you; to answer your requests; to process your membership application; to prepare name badges; to place courtesy calls to you, etc. If you don’t wish to ever receive a phone call, you can choose to not provide a phone number in your profile.

The site includes a membership directory and consultant’s directory. You have control over what information to share in your profile and it is your responsibility to keep the profile updated.

We use Google Analytics to track visitors of our website. This lets us see which of our pages are the most popular so we can better serve our users' needs. It lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors visited which pages, for example).

When joining our chapter, you will also be added to the ATD headquarters database for the purpose of allowing headquarters to sync your membership if you join or renew your NNJ-ATD memberships through the headquarters’ TD.org website.”

We use a website vendor, www.wildapricot.com, and a host provider, www.hostmonster.com. Refer to https://www.wildapricot.com/PrivacyPolicy and https://www.hostmonster.com/privacy-policy for their own privacy policies.


eMail Privacy Policy

Email Privacy
The NNJ-ATD does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone. We may send out an email on behalf of a sponsor, but they will never receive your email address nor other contact information.

You may choose to opt out of emails at any time at two levels: event emails, and general emails such as newsletters. Doing so will cease those communications from us. As long as you are an active member, you will also receive system generated emails such as renewal notices.

Personal and Contact Information:
NNJ-ATD may use your personal and contact information to operate the Website and, in particular, facilitate the education, community and networking capabilities of the Website, advertise its services and the goods and services of its members and third parties, create a personalized experience for you, provide you with news and information, contact you regarding a survey, get in touch with you when necessary with respect to transactions conducted through the Website, material changes in the Website’s policies and agreements, new products, tools, or services NNJ-ATD may offer, or otherwise. NNJ-ATD may also share your contact information with ATD’s members, service providers, or business partners (including ATD National), as is necessary to provide NNJ-ATD's services and information, for advertising purposes, to host, operate, or facilitate transactions through the Website, including, without limitation, registration for membership, events, or for internal business purposes.

External or Third Party Websites.
To the extent hyperlinks or gateways (whether through banner advertisements or otherwise) are utilized to access external or third party sites, you should be aware that these external or third party sites may collect personally identifiable information and are not controlled by NNJ-ATD and therefore, are not subject to this Privacy Policy. NNJ-ATD suggests that you check the privacy policies of these sites to determine how the proprietors of these third party sites will utilize your personally identifiable information.


Cancellation Policies


How to Cancel a Membership:
A new NNJ-ATD member may cancel a membership by requesting a cancellation:
  1. If you joined the NNJ ATD chapter and need to cancel your membership, notify us within five days of joining and we will refund your membership fee less an administrative processing fee of 20%.
If you wish to cancel, you can notify us and we can archive your account so that you don’t receive further communication and are no longer a member, but no pro-rated refunds shall be provided. As each chapter operates independently, memberships cannot be transferred to another chapter nor to another person.

How to Cancel an Event Registration:
Unless otherwise noted for a specific event, cancellations received five (5) or more business days prior to the NNJ-ATD event for which a fee has been paid will be credited towards a future meeting to be used within a 12 month period. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Registrants who have not paid and do not show will be invoiced the full event registration cost.

If NNJ-ATD needs to cancel an event, a workshop, or professional development program, participants will be notified prior to the day of the scheduled workshop and NNJ-ATD will issue full refunds to all participants registered for that program within eight (8) weeks of the cancellation date. On occasion, an event or workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, instructor scheduling issues or causes beyond our control. NNJ-ATD reserves the right to cancel events, workshops, or professional development programs that do not meet minimum registration requirements.
